Tile? Wallpaper? A bit of both.
This is a new wall tile design from Erin Adams for Ann Sacks that we saw at KBIS. The artist said she based her new all-over patterned mosaics on her appreciation for decorative wallpaper. Her technique for cutting larger pieces of glass with precise fine lines and curves makes this dot pattern possible.
The nature of glass adds so much to this installation when you view it in person; the depth and warmth of the colors really come through, adding a rich quality to the polka dots.

The mosaics are available as 12x12 netted sheets or can be customized. The main photo is of "circles". Next is "vine", followed by "mirror mosaic". See the complete collection here.
Available at Ann Sacks.

I love Ann Sacks... Too bad she doesn't make tile that is affordable.
I've had my eye on that bamboo tile for quite some time. I think I'm going to attempt and make it myself. I've made a couple of stained glass panels so I know a bit about working with glass.
beautiful, but -- good lord -- at $85/square foot they better be made out of gold
The company I work for DOES offer tile made of gold (well, gold leaf sandwiched between glass mosaic tiles). People tend to gasp when they hear the price.
I adore Ann Sacks and even encourage my clients to mix it with our products--but they usually can only afford it in small doses. Beautiful stuff.
What would be interesting to see would be a similar technique but with wood veneers. I'm going to go ahead and assume it'd be cheaper as well. Add a high shine finish and it's Glam!
That vine pattern would look marvelous in a framed "mural" above a bath. But she is way overpriced. I think you are paying too much for the Name here.
Maybe use as an accent, enhance with some onyx tiles and a honed stone field tile -- limestone or a creamy marble?
(The vine/bird tiles look a little like the pietra dura stone "marquetry" you see in Florence.)
