The iconic Acapulco Chair that was made popular in the 1950s was recently given an update by The Common Project. In keeping with tradition the chairs are hand crafted by Mexican artisans, but the vinyl cords have been replaced with recycled UV filtered PVC cords to create the woven shell.
According to their website:
The Common Project was established as an open platform to promote simple, high-concept and practical furniture and product design. At the core of the project stands the philosophy to achieve intelligent and authentic products with a high aesthetic life expectancy and functionality and to collaborate with anonymous and up-and-coming designers, celebrating the processes and stories behind their products. The Common Project is a design group led by architects and designers based on Los Angeles, Barcelona, and Mexico City.
You can read more about The Common Project and their Acapulco Chair here. There are several styles (classic, rocker, child–size) and colors to choose from and prices start at $200.

I love the way these look. Does anyone know if they are comfortable?
very comfortable. cannot believe how great the innit chairs are. colors so vibrant. I often use a sheepskin throw if i am sitting on them for a few hours. makes them look really cool.
They're comfy. I ordered a miniature chair directly from INNIT. Never came. Got a refund 3 months later.
I bought 3 Innit chairs and did not have any delivery problems whatsoever. It seems that my friends are now starting to buy them as well, liking mine.
I bought a combination of tripod base Acapulco chairs and rocking chairs from Innit Designs. They allowed me to combine frame finishes (black, white, or chrome) and weave colours. You can ask for up to 3 vinyl colours / chair but you have to contact them directly. I ordered two Acapulco chairs with white frames and a white & yellow weave and 2 Innit Rockers (round) with black frames with a yellow & black weave. They look fabulous and are incredibly comfortable. After ordering online and then customizing the chairs with Innit by email, the chairs arrived at my house within two weeks even though I was told it would take three.
