Regina posted this Narrow House in Greenwich Village last August when it first went on the market.
The nine-and-a-half feet wide home at 75½ Bedford Street recently sold…
Since its beginnings in 1873, the West Village building has housed a cobbler shop, candy factory, and been a home to many including actor John Barrymore and author Edna St. Vincent Millay. We found more photos of the house since it went on the market last August.
The the nine-and-a-half-feet-wide brick house recently sold for $2.175 million.

White Enamel Four-P...
For being so skinny, it seems nice and bright and airy...
...I could totally live there
I agree! And boy, do I love Greenwich Village.
More than 2 million dollars for a home that is as wide as my dining room? Only in New York!
Here's "the Skinny House" in my neighborhood: http://www.flickr.com/photos/julesschroom/53902914/?edited=1
9 feet wide, but probably a lot less than $2mil.
It's narrow but overall it's 400 square feet bigger than the bungalow I live in now. I could easily live in it.
That price would buy a brand new 10,000 square foot waterfront home where I live (Rochester, NY).
What does one do with a 10,000 square foot home?
in Rochester?
The outdoor spaces alone made it worth 1.5 mill of that. I could live there. Easily.
Bigger is not always better.
But I agree that 2 million is a little outrageous. Then again, I don't live in NY, and don't have a lot of money, so maybe this just isn't my world. lol.
Considering that it worked for Cary Grant, John Barrymore, Margaret Mead, William Steig and Edna St. Vincent Millay, I'm sure I could handle it ;-)
awesomeness in a little package ...
I don't know...I lived in a 15' wide x 72' wide long narrow one room loft so this space is almost half that width...the reason my loft worked was it had 14' ceilings and a huge 10' arched window on one end. Since this space has high ceilings I guess I could do it...$2M would get you your own private island in Maine...
In my youth, I had a grand adventure in this very house. I was so pleased to find it on here. Ah, nostalgia.
It's the old adage at work : Location, location, location.
It's a nice space, but I think I'll put my nevergonnahappen millions into something else :-)
