If you're not quite ready to embrace purple paint, and the tidal wave of purple furnishings and accessories hasn't sparked your interest yet — Be Prepared! More purple is on the way. Here are the best purple items I spotted at the NYIGF:
PURPLE MUST SEES:
• 1-3 Alexa Lixfield — Hamburg, Germany based designer is known for her handmade ceramics and textiles. Lavendar is her only color to pop against the collections' many neutral tones.
• 4 & 5 Normann Copenhagen — some classics of their collection are introduced in purple including the dustpan & broom and washing up rubber tub by Ole Jensen and the new diamond tea towels by Anne Lehmann
• 6 Koziol — purple, raisin and berry colors were out front in the Koziol booth!
• 7 Paul Smith for Stelton — winner of the Accent on Design Best Product Collection award, the new Stelton collection promises to help the purple reign continue
• 8 & 9Jonathan Adler — purple is a not a common color found in Jonathan Adler's extensive lines of home furnishings but it makes an appearance in the new insect embroidery pillows
• 10Blissliving Home — purple and burlap pillows!

i love all the purples and lavenders, reminds me of my mum!!
i worked in a cook shop a and those rubber wash basins are very over priced! and the hairs in the brush seemed to always fall out, lead to very unhappy customers!

It's funny...my husband and I honeymooned in Italy in September 2009, and EVERYTHING was purple. Fashion, furnishings, everything. We kept saying, "Just watch...in a year, EVERYTHING will be purple in the U.S., too." And yep - everywhere I look there are articles saying purple is this fall's big color trend. I love it.
3 of us guys are wearing purple shirts and ties in the office today...
...It must be a sign!
Last spring I redecorated my family room... In purple and gray. Choices were limited in purple accessories.. I was too much ahead of my time lol I LOVE purple!
went fall shopping w/ the spouse yesterday & she bought purple blouses & scarves (also red stuff). she keeps up w/ things like this, esp. color trends, so i know it must be in.
trendy shmendy. I'll leave it behind. I have no love lost for purple. I didn't like Barney either.
Yuck.
Whoops, my husband and I just painted over a purple room in our new house. It had lavender carpet, walls and ceiling. Now it has yellow walls and a white ceiling, and last night my husband put his hands on his hips and declared, "we just increased the value of this room by $100,000."
@tasterspoon--i like purple but having a purple room & rug would be overkill, ugh! i bet you did increase the value. it's such a rich color that you need to use it sparingly.
