Paisley bolsters, layered oriental carpets, a brass chandelier and chinoiserie paper lampshades are not the normal trappings of a college dorm room. In their annual Home Design issue, New York Magazine shows us the room of Maximilian Sinsteden on the campus of Drew University in Madison, New Jersey — and it is fabulous... Maximilian is a 21-year-old senior and though he has had no formal design training, he holds a weekly position with the designer Charlotte Moss and has worked for the decorator David Easton.
