Interiors of the Hip and Famous. Wendy Goodman, Interior Design Editor of New York magazine, brings us a 40 page spread featuring seven apartment redesigns for the likes of Daniel Libeskind, Donna Karen, and Lou Reed. The point is to profile the "new garde" of local interior designers. Naturally, we're all for making celebrities of up-and-coming interior designers, and we were inspired by the pretty pictures, though practical insights for the masses did seem a bit slim. Yes, the new garde makes innovative use of thrift shop gems and even inserts the occasional Ikea "chaise," but those things do seem to look so much better when surrounded by 4,600 square feet of upper-story loft.
