It doesn't matter if you're a full out comic book nerd or you have simply paid enough attention to recognize this iconic clock tower that overlooks Brooklyn. This penthouse has recently popped back onto the market. It boasts 3 floors and almost 7,000 square feet, 4 giant clocks and a ridiculous price tag for most. Care to take a guess at what this Gotham City icon will run you per month?
$50,000 is the monthly cost of calling this sky high suite home, unless you want to buy it out right at 23 million. It's an immensely beautiful space that is begging for a bit of modern furniture or large art pieces — oh and one fat party! The lowest ceilings in the space start at 16 feet and go all the way up to 50 in some areas. There's indoor and outdoor deck and observation areas that take advantage of the 360 degree view from atop this 1914 Brooklyn landmark.
It's a piece of history, it's a piece of pop culture, and more importantly it just goes to show that there's always someone willing to be part of both as we're sure this pad won't be available for very long. Check out the links below to learn more about the listing and the roles it plays in comic culture through the years.

Ercol Bar Stool
... it's 'cause they're killing Oracle, isn't it. :|
Now that's a window! I wonder if someone has attempted a smaller-scale DIY of that window yet.
This building has been available for the longest time. I remember when the original buying price was at $35 million. My interior design friends at Pratt visited this place and they said that it is too open, but that has never stopped me from wanting to live there.
My sister's job is the building right next to this one and you can really see into the clock faces, which can feel somewhat invasive..
omg the view
Worth. Every. Penny.
Now I hardly have enough pennies to even stay one night in that place; but if I did, it'd be worth it! What imagination! Very cool. I would do all my plotting while petting a cat, leering through the giant clock, overlooking the whole city......excellent....
The first thing I'd do if I owned it is make the clock digital.
Don't the Avengers need a lair while they're saving Gotham?
@QueenoftheFall - you'll need a mini-me, too!
Now buying that place is just asking for trouble. I can just see myself waking up at eight and going back to bed thinking I had four hours left to sleep.
Wow, amazing and worth that clock window alone..
This is such an Adrian Veidt think. XD
if you have 50K to spend every month, you buy a place and not rent it. Maybe they should rent it out for events. Seems like it has trouble catching a buyer and long term owner who will make this into a home.
comics alliance is not a link
Uhhhh Man, I would take it but its only 3 bedrooms, I need 4. Shhooooottt
If I had the dollars I'd also have the sense to not spend $25K per month on a rental.
Amazing.
I want it, I want it, I want it! Wait..thier killing off Oracle???? Say it isn't soooo!!!!
@ RobotLover @Ben Copland, @Icanmakeit -- thanks MUCH for the LOL's!
When crossing the Brooklyn bridge I have always wondered what is behind that clock. Maybe they need someone to house sit while theynfind a buyer.
That's more than a lot of annual teacher salaries. I'm just sayin.
If only I was a millionaire!
Expensive...but it is quite beautiful. And what a view!!
@Fire Wife Katie: I plan to attempt something like that... except maybe a little more understated... if I ever have enough money. :D
