News broke yesterday that Babble.com, one of the largest online sites for parents, was acquired by the Walt Disney Company and will be incorporated into their Interactive Media Group. Babble began 5 years ago as an edgy, urban-focused alternative to mainstream parenting media outlets and has grown to include about 200 "influential mommy bloggers." Husband and wife founders Rufus Griscom and Alisa Volkman vow to "stay true, connected, real, honest and interesting." For their part, Disney hopes to "infuse its Moms and Family evergreen content into Babble."
What do you think? An odd couple or happy bedfellows?
