This just in: one of our favorite sources for green news and inspiration is in some pretty dire straits. Grist.org president Chip Giller has locked the place down. The Seattle staff is living in their office until they raise $50,000. Everyone knows what a hit newspapers and the field of journalism in general is taking these days. So just imagine the hit a non-profit environmental news organization might take? Not pretty...
Is it a publicity stunt? Maybe. But we're big Grist fans here, so we thought we'd help get the word out.
Grist covers everything from international environmental news to the nitty gritty details of composting toilets. They're not afraid to get down and dirty — and they approach every story with a healthy bit of humor. We like that. We'd like to see them survive.
