Their biggest fundraising event of the year, Housing Works' annual home shopping benefit, Design on a Dime, is next week.
This will be the third year for the event, whose proceeds help to provide housing, supportive services, and medical care to homeless New Yorkers living with HIV/AIDS.
The benefit is being held this year at the Altman Building (135 West 18th St) on Friday, May 18th (10-7) and Saturday May 19th (10-5).
Featuring room vignettes by 17 top interior designers filled to the brim with new furniture, housewares, and artwork all at 70% off retail.

Can anyone who attended this in past years comment on the quality and cost of the items for sale? Is anything actually affordable? And is it worth buying a $150 ticket for the opening night preview sale? Thanks!
