Calling all hackers, modders, and DIYers. Wouldn't you love to see your creation featured on the pages of ReadyMade magazine? We recently received a call for entries, and know that some of our super-creative AT readers out there could wow the judges. Have you rigged up your iPod, computer, or sound system to look or act in a new or unusual way? Then ReadyMade wants you.
So put your thinking cap on and get started, they are taking submissions now. Complete details are after the jump.
Here's the scoop:
For the next issue of ReadyMade—our first-ever Mod Squad theme, on newsstands in October and November—we're geeking out ReadyMade style.
That means we're looking for the finest in customization projects and home tech mods: How to improve your pad and wheels with hand-hacked gadgetry; ingenious ways to use and adapt the latest gizmos; and forward-thinking ideas about how to conserve or create energy. Also, if you or your tech-savvy friends have houses they've wired themselves, please send stories (and Flickr sites) our way.
A few things we're considering:
* A feature on DIY art/music cooperatives sprouting up in cities around the country
* Good-looking reuse projects that breathe new life into old computer and entertainment components
* Media storage solutions from music industry folk
* High-tech craft projects
Remember that Halloween and Thanksgiving fall during this period, so holiday ideas are fair game.
