The idea of purchasing electronics automatically sounds less than eco-friendly. In general, when we're talking about televisions, dvd players and mp3 players, there's a good chance that technology will out-date itself before you get a chance to really put it to use. That's why Best Buy offers to buy back your old tech.
I always have a great moral decision to make when it comes to buying tech. Do I buy what's hot and hip or purchase something that I know will last me a lifetime (or at least a few years)? I don't always want to re-buy my pieces, but I don't want to be out of date either.
Best Buy heard the pleas of its consumers and started a new program to buy back your old tech. Think of it as leasing your TV. The longer you hang on to the piece of equipment, the less worth it will have for a trade-in. (But on the flip side, the happier you'll be that you found a product that works well!) I hope this Buy Back program also produce a series of gently used electronics that can be resold.
Check out all the details over at Best Buy including a bit from Justin Bieber and Ozzy (which is a sentence I never... ever thought I'd say) to tell you all about it.

This is going to be a terrible deal. You're much better off selling it on eBay yourself or using a service like Gazelle. I generally use eBay as I know I can get more for my buck there. You have to pay for this BestBuy service at the time of purchase too, outside of the free window which ends in a few weeks.
You can only use this for products you bought at Best Buy, I believe. My daughter wanted to sell back an old Mac laptop, but they wouldn't take it. Kinda limits the usefulness of this program.
