The DCist reports that yesterday Simon Doonan was in the White House discussing the drapes with staffers and taking notes. Married to designer Jonathan Adler, Simon Doonan is Barney's New York creative director/window dresser and has appeared on America's Next Top Model and VH1's I Love the [insert decade] shows. Click through to see photos of the rooms Simon Doonan was allegedly discussing (the East Room and State Dining Room) and more links on Simon Doonan and White House decor...
We are wondering why Simon Doonan was discussing the White House drapes and whether Jonathan Adler is involved. Any ideas?

How cool!
OF COURSE he's going to discuss drapes while at the White House - Do you honestly think he was brought in for his thoughts on Foriegn Policy???
And if Jonathan Adler were officially involved - He would have been there, don't you think?
LOL, I love imagining that he WAS brought in to discuss foreign policy!
Please tell me Jonathan Adler is going to create the grooviest set of White House china ever.

Highly unlikely considering Laura Bush ordered two entire sets.
Michael Smith is handling the Obama's living quarters. I don't really see Jonathan Adler and Michael Smith's styles really meshing together.
When can we finally expect to see some White House redecorating done? Like a whole room before-and-after? It seems to me it's been sooo long since the Obamas moved in, and I'd love to see if and what changes they have made inside the House.
