Next Month in Milan: EDIT by
Design Junction

A sneak preview of the soaring space for EDIT by Design Junction 2013 in Milan.

Next month, I'll be packing my camera and laptop and heading to Milan for one of the biggest weeks of the year for international design. Designers, retailers, manufacturers and (very lucky) press people will be heading to the Fiera for the Salone Internazionale del Mobile. But those in the know will also be heading to La Pelota on Via Palermo, for a fresh take on what's next - Design Junction's festival within a festival, EDIT.

The exhibition is, in many ways, an answer to the wonderful overabundance of design to take in at I Saloni. While too much design is never really a problem for me (ever!), it is a refreshing and invigorating counterpoint to combine the big show experience with a visit to a smaller, super-select gathering of exhibitors. The EDIT location also allows for a full fruitful day away from the fairground, as Brera is the hub of interiors showrooms and galleries for Milan - plenty to see and explore.

Design Junction got it start at London Design Week in 2011 (Maxwell attended in 2012 and it was one of his favorite stops of the week) and this year, Apartment Therapy is proud to be one of the media partners of the show, in both Milan next month and later this year, in London, so keep an eye out for our announcements ahead of time and coverage directly from the shows.

EDIT 2013 will include exhibitions by international design brands, live workshops and installations, along with pop up cafes and shops.
