All About Jonathan Adler
Since receiving his first order for pottery from Barneys New York sixteen years ago, Jonathan Adler’s eponymous company has grown to become an internationally recognized home and gift oriented lifestyle brand offering decorative objet, tabletop collections, bedding, bath accessories, candles, furniture, rugs, pillows and lighting. Jonathan Adler is known for a design aesthetic which pairs modernist forms with bold colors and groovy graphics. The company motto, “If your heirs won’t fight over it, we won’t make it”, reflects Jonathan’s commitment to impeccable craftsmanship and panache.
Jonathan Adler has ten company-operated stores nationwide in addition to a thriving consumer website. Through its wholesale division, the company sells its groovy home décor in over 1,000 locations worldwide. Additionally, Jonathan Adler is one of the country’s leading interior designers, working on luxury residential projects as well as large-scale commercial projects, including the celebrity hot spot Parker Palm Springs hotel.
In 2009, Jonathan Adler partnered with Barbie® to design the retro-glam and girl-chic interior for the “real” Malibu Dream House in celebration of Barbie’s® 50th Anniversary. Jonathan Adler’s partnership with Barbie® will continue with the introduction of a capsule collection product line and Jonathan Adler doll in Fall 2009. Jonathan Adler also partnered with the distinguished luxury brand, Godiva Chocolatier®, to design a decadent chocolate inspired Valentines Day suite in New York City. Stemming from his design experience in the hospitality market, Jonathan Adler launched the luxury fabric collection, Volumes of Velvet, inspired by signature colors and geometrics.
For 2010, Jonathan Adler continues to broaden its audience in wholesale markets overseas, and expanding our retail platform to open stores in burgeoning national markets. Jonathan Adler also continues to develop its licensing division and business partnerships, most notably with the upcoming launch of a stationary collection.
Jonathan is the lead judge on the Bravo television series, “Top Design”.
