- What I Love About My Small Home:
- How the vintage charm of a 1920s building and the magic of light coalesce to create a warm and inviting space with strong connections to earth and the industrial age. As an old soul I’ve always found an affinity to things of the past. Inspired by quality and character, I’ve aspired to create a modern space that is a personal reflection of me: warm, aged, confident, and comfortable. I’ve spent considerable time hunting for vintage industrial and mid-century pieces that reflect these values. Each with a story, a history, and a past given new life.
- Three of My Best Tips and Tricks for Creating a Successful Small Space::
- Light – I’ve found enhancing the natural light is always ideal. I recommend open airy curtains that allow light to diffuse and wash through a space.
Texture - Color is wonderful but I’ve always preferred texture. Not only does it provide visual interest it also provides tactile interest. A home is more than just a photo, make it feel as interesting as it looks by balancing metals, woods, textiles, etc.
Plants – My grandmother always said a house is not a home without a plant. I’ve kind of taken it to heart. Everything from the calming color of green to the health benefits of cleaner air, they just add more life to a space. I can’t imagine a room without several.
