Color Inspiration: My goal was to create a room that would be suitable for a little boy. Tired of baby blues and pastels, I wanted to create a room that is bright and energetic yet not too crazy.

Color Inspiration continued: Reading about my son and his personality I discovered that dark blues, orange or yellows, would work the best for him. Luckily, Lowes had the perfect colors already picked for me by the "American Tradition".
The main color orange is so amazing, which looks brighter on the chip than on the walls. My son's room is so pleasant to the eye. When the sun shines in, the room looks as if it was lit on fire and even with no direct sunlight it looks beautifully lit. It was one of these lucky color finds
Tip For Using Color: I discovered that choosing already picked colors from the designers is a safer choice. Brochures that lay next to the display of color chips in Lowes or Home Depot provide enough variety and as I discovered too, look pretty good on the walls.
Colors Used: Main color: Orange Slice
Ceiling: Orange Toffee
Trim: can be any bright white
Accessories: any darker blue or Peek-A-Boo Blue

I love this room. It is perfectly boyish.
Nice room! Where is the closet organization system from?
Actually, I was just thinking about hanging a white board in my own room, as I always remember things for the grocery list at the wrong time of day! It would be more fun for a kid anytime!
Thanks for the comments. This is an old house and we had to re-build the closet and instead of spending money on a custom closet organizer, I just used my old cubes purchased from Linens and Things (when they were still in business). Then, I ordered clear drawers directly from the manufacture of the company called "Ocean Distributors Inc." But, I think they are not in business anymore because I can't find them anymore.
I could not believe my luck when I found white board one day sitting happily by the trash. It is big and in perfect condition and the kids like to use it all the time. Their favorite game is a hangman.
Trying to be "green" for the kids, I use vodka :-) to clean the board which works beautifully.
love that low loft bed. my house has low ceilings but my son really wants a bunk bed. great idea. where did you get it?
I really like this room, not only because orange is my favorite color. It gives a good energy, and warms your feelings. It is very bright and inviting. Bright colors are much better for the kids rooms than boring pastel walls.
The bed looks just like my son's Kura from IKEA.
The bed is from IKEA and you can do so much with it, paint it any color, put a canopy (from IKEA) or even do the drawers under the bed as somebody else here did:

I think the room is so great and well organize for the boy...
I like shiny color also.
We have talked about getting that bed for our son one day. I think any kid has got to love the cubby capabilities!
