What!?

This made me weep. Seriously. My eyes are all watery. Love a man who loves his cat. Love the film maker. Yes, love the cat. He is like a lion sitting on top of his rock, surveying his pride and the veranda (very Isak Denisen).

I had thought about submitting a suggestion for my dogs, but then thought...no, my dogs aren't things so I shouldn't suggest it. But seeing how well this was done, I am pleased.

p.s. Put Ernie on a leash and take him for a walk. He dreams of the outside.

Such a wonderful video today. I loved this. It makes me think of how much more I like "things" you can do something with or use instead of just display and admire. And how appropriate that his wife's favorite thing is a vacuum to collect all the cat hair.

Too cute! When you get a kitten,if you start them on a bathing regime right away,I promise you will not have a shedding issue!They get used to it rather quickly.Ive washed every cat Ive ever owned,and never had a problem.In fact,2 of my cats wouldnt let me soak in a tub in peace!

I am not a cat person even a little bit but that was awesome.

Great post - Ernie is so cute! I love orange tabby cats, they are incredibly friendly.

When I first saw the "My Favorite Thing" submission request, I simultaneously thought of my great grandmother's handmade quilt and of my boys - two American short hair cats. Those are my babies and I too marvel at their paws/paw pads, nose, tails and overall shape. They're gorgeous!

This was ever so sweet to watch. Brought tears to my eyes too. It's been a year since I had to give up my "boys" due to allergies. I had them trained to "walk" on leashes outdoors. And they loved fetch. They were super fun.
Your cat goes beautifully with the decor. Of course it could be your favorite thing in the house. Personally, the cat and vacuum would tie for top spot with me.

Such a wonderful showcase of your sweet kitty! I too love my cats more than anything else in my apartment, BUT! I would not consider them "things". I would consider a "thing" an inanimate object. My cats are my companions/roommates/children. They are many things, but I wouldn't consider them a "thing".

Great video! I laughed, I got tears in my eyes, the whole works. And as I started to watch it, MY fat (gray) male tabby came up to my chair and meowed at me ("you're watching ANOTHER cat in a video? What about ME?"), which turned out to be his request for me to go get his little rubber chew-toy and stroke his head and nose with it (sounds weird, I know, but it's one of his all-time favorite activities in the World!).

As any cat owner will identify with, I loved how he was talking about how much he loved the cat while Ernie flicked his tail and looked annoyed. I'm sure he can be affectionate, just not on command with a camera!

@Proof the music sounds like an aria from Bellini's I Puritani, It is called "O rendetemi la speme" which means "Give me back hope". Don't know who is singing it in the video.

The position of Ernie's tail at .45 seconds... made me giggle like an adolescent.
