- What I Love About My Small Home:
- What I love most about my apartment is the challenge of making a small space functional and beautiful. Small spaces can be just as grand and impressive as something ten times the size. It's about working with what you are given, making the best of it, and making it your own.
- Biggest Challenge of Living in a Small Space
- I feel that part of being a REAL New Yorker is how good you are at hiding things and learning how to utilize every square inch. The oven is a great place to store things, especially if you don't cook!

Actually, the oven is a pretty dangerous place to store things, unless they're not flammable in any way. Beautiful space, though. I think you do a great job of making it homey but still clean and modern.
This is lovely. I do cook so the oven isn't a great place to store things. The freezer, on the other hand ...
Very nice! Good luck!
Very nice, I love white.
I've heard some nightmares about white on white apartments in NYC getting weird and sooty but... I can see why someone would want to walk into such a serene atmosphere after spending the day in such a densely populated city. Does one weigh out the other or does is soot not really a problem as I've heard it described? houseofthebonestorm.blogspot.com
Way too white for me but I like the small accents of beautiful things you have.
I would like your dishes...
*would like to have
I would feel so comfortable in your place! Maybe because I have many of the same things in my place :)
where did you get those curtains? and what are they called? they are perfect. i want them
How do you keep it so clean and white? My place would be covered in marks!
I love your window shades too! Where did you get them? :)
Love the atmosphere you created! One question though, why not lower the TV seeing you don't have a functioning fireplace anyway?
WOW. You must be really clean. I'm such a klutz, that I would have wine on the furniture in a second just because it would be what I would be telling myself not to do over and over...
I know that putting your tv over the fireplace is all the rage, but that would put a kink in my neck! Very pretty home, that exception noted.
Where are the pictures of your kitchen, or bathroom?
So serene and cozy. Love it!
Where did you get your bedding and couches? Love them.
Terrific. 'Feels nice and warm' the monocrome scheme can edited and refined for years!
Thanks for all the lovely comments!!! The curtains are roman shades and I had them made for my apt. You can buy them quite easily at many major window covering companies.
Keeping my apartment white is really tricky....I've kept it primarily white because the space is small and white makes things appear to be sooooo much bigger. The couches are the worst to keep clean but bleach does wonders against the dirt my little English cocker brings in. Oyyyyy.
The TV is always a challenge. I would love nothing more than to hide it. I have some new ideas to achieve that while leaving it on the wall to maximize my space issues. The height of the TV actually isn't as bad as you might think.
I really like the blue print above the bed, I haven't seen this done before, neat!
What is the material of the shades? What color are they? It's kinda hard to tell in the photo
Lovely, lovely space. I too have a lot of white in my apartment, and actually, I find white so much easier to keep clean than everyone seems to think. It forces me to tidy up so that it always stays fresh. ;)
What exactly is the piece over your bed and where is it from? It's awesome!
Congrats on creating such a beautiful, calm and serene space!
Love those typewriters mounted on the wall. Nice touch to put paper in them.
You have a dog and manage to keep it white? Amazing! My girl would trash that place in about two seconds. Beautiful home and I love the print over your bed as well.
Actual TYPEWRITERS on the actual WALL. That is hot.
I like the overall sense of airiness and cleanliness with gritty, textured accents. Marvelous.
Love the mechanical print (engraving? something) over the bed, too.
You have great wonderful style, with an eye for details. I think your entry is one of the best. The pitcher collection is incredible and the baby blue porcelain accents on your table fit perfectly. Great antique desk. Definitely not your typical Ikea kit room.
