Room for Color
Love it! Such an unusual and fresh combination of colours. I would never have thought to put them together but they look great!
Love the colour combo! Unexpected and very refreshing.
I love the bed! Is that a vintage frame or can I buy that somewhere?! Beautiful room overall.
WOW! I love that peach color on your lamp. You inspired me to paint mine in that color. Also can you tell me where you got that egg crate type of holder for your jewelry? It's so cute! And I'm definitely keeping the old navy paint in mind for my next painting job.
LOVE the egg crate as a jewelry holder! Very clever.
Ethereal!!
A fellow Alexandrian (and Parkfairfax resident, perhaps? looks possible from the window) with great taste! I'll have to live vicariously through you since I didn't get my act together in time to enter this year, but we share a love for navy paint and egg crate and faux branch jewelry holders. Love your coral bed and lamp!
Colors are fantastic.
I really like the pictures above your bed. They are very peaceful and calming...just right for a sleepy place. :)
I like this one also! Love the egg crate jewelry holder.
I too love the trees above the bed --- can you tell us anything about them? Lovely, lovely room!
This is one of my faves and is going in my inspiration file! I love the color combo and the use of color on the wall and in the furniture!
Thanks so much! The bed was a Craigslist purchase for $75 that I painted. The pictures came from the clearance bin in a furniture store and I liked the pictures but the frames were a weird stain color so I painted them. The egg crate came from Kohls. Anthropology has colored one but I was really hoping for white and finally came across it at Kohls!
Really like the color combination you have going here.
Original and convincing. This one manages to be "a palette I've never seen before" without being "a palette I hope I'll never see again." It's hard to invent something good that hasn't been done a hundred times, but Nikki did it.
I'm normally not a fan of the color blue, but this is such an interesting and fresh combination that I'm totally sold! I
I absolutely adore this room! This is definitely in my top 5, and I think really fulfills the aim of the contest. This room is designed very intentionally with color, and it's such a beautiful result. I also love the repetition of lines in the bed picture: how they seem to morph from rigid diagonals in the pillow up through the headboard/frame and end up wonderfully organic in the tree pictures. Stunning!
