When I was pregnant with my 2-year-old son, Niko, I was so sick that I had no energy or motivation to put my heart into decorating his nursery. We left the wall color the same as it had always been and threw in a crib. As he grew out of his crib (and I wasn't pregnant) I really wanted to make his toddler/big boy room fun.
I was inspired by my father's collections of antique toys and he gave us a few old toy trucks and a cool Pan Am toy plane. With those items, a trip to IKEA, some bright blue paint, and a paint-it-yourself chalk board, Niko was a very happy 2-year-old with a fun, bright, new room!
