Jewelry storage is one design problem that cries out for DIY solutions. Whether you want to organize your jewelry out of sight, or create a display that combines form and function, if you have jewelry, you've spent some time debating the merits of various storage solutions. For those of you that want to show off your jewelry, this display by Nishka offers some wonderful inspiration.
The beauty of this system lies in how easy it is to create and maintain an organized display board. Repurposing cabinet handles, a coat rack, and knobs to create a tiered hanging system allows Nishka to display a wide variety of jewelry from delicate earrings to chuncky bracelets. The fabric backing allows for endless customization, as does your choice of frame. If you have only a few pieces to display, you might only need a small frame while larger collections call for poster sized frames or perhaps a cluster a smaller frames to create a dynamic display.

White Enamel Flatwa...
HA! I collect costume jewelry and make it -- I'd need forty of these if I displayed my stuff as sparsely as that! (Maybe more!)
This is SOOO much nicer than looking at pegboard. I would actually want people to see this.
Great job!
I actually own that same one in the picture above. I have had tons of compliments and people wanting to know where they can get one.
We did something similar for keys and glasses that could work as a jewelry organizer as well using a picasso print and an old box. We love it.

snooze. repost: this was already featured with a link for purchase.
hey bejeweled diy-ers. I posted this in another jewelry display post, but I made an utterly delightful organizer out of a wooden birdhouse from Michaels! (technically a dog house...but it's door was bigger and more open than a traditional birdhouse). Anyhoo, it's cute. You can see my tutorial here! http://cutpasterepeat.blogspot.com/2010/03/birdhouse-jewelry-tutorial.html
