Name: Nixon
Location: New Jersey
My life revolves around babies. Seriously. So when it was time to have my own, I thought it would be that much easier and I was very wrong.
I own a modern baby store (NessaLee Baby) and one of the things we offer to our customers is custom nursery design. So over the last two years I've been involved in every step of designing other people's modern nurseries all day. I knew so many people would see my nursery and felt more pressure to make him a space that reflected our style and fit in with the rest of our home, but also represented what our store offers.
The most challenging part was getting the paneled wall perfect. It took us an entire day, but was well worth it! The clear acrylic name plate ties together all the acrylic in the room. Initially we planned on mounting the letters directly to the panels, but I'm so happy that didn't work out because it turned out so much better this way.

Totally awesome room! I LOVE everything about the room, esp. the curtains!
Calm, fun, beautiful color scheme... you make a great advertisement for your store !! The printed name is really fun !
I wonder about the white wall: tiles ? fabric ? Wallpaper ? Whatever it is, I absolutely love the look, but I can't decide from the pictures what it is made of.
Is that really a padded wall?
Is that wall padded? That is genius! It'll cut down some of the noise, from and to the baby! Bonus, it looks great. Also great colors. The baby will love the different tones of whites and gray. If you didn't say it I would of guessed you did this for a living.
cute! love the color combo.
i do wish the bookshelves were on kid level. once the little guy wants to play with them himself it will be so impractical.
This nursery is fantastic! Clean lines and modern with some amazing and creative accents. And I absolutely LOVE the name Nixon. Love love love it all!
The paneled was is simply ceiling tiles right? The downside to this wall is you can't really hang anything from it and thus the hanging name sign?
Please tell us more about the wall....I love love love this! And the orange is great.....oh... and Nixon is a very cool name. Congrats!
Great room, love the padded wall. My only negative crit is the area rug seems a little too small.
Modern, whimsical and orange! You are SO speaking my language! And I love the name Nixon!
I'm also curious about the materials you used on the paneled wall. Gorgeous!
That is a very cool crib.
Thanks everyone for your comments! Regarding the wall...It is made up of individual pieces of MDF that are upholstered with white vinyl and then individually (securely) attached to the wall. It took about 8 hours to complete with a few people working on it.
Is it just me, or does that name plaque come across alarmingly like an Exxon sign?
This is a joke, right?
As someone who works with babies every single day but does not yet have any of her own, I think this is a GORGEOUS room. I love the rocker, the colors and if that is not the most beautiful crib I've ever seen... Kudos.
I LOVE that chair - must know where it came from!?
I really like the feature of an upholstered wall.
A Hudson Bay Blanket would really tie in nicely with your colour scheme/side panels.
The chair looks like a Monte.
