Whenever we happen to catch Fabulous Life on VH1, we love the part where Chris Flockton (who sounds a lot life Robin Leach) says, "...You think THAT'S fancy? Wait until you see THIS FABULOUS HOUSE! Boasting 20 flamingoes in the lawn, 6 indoor heated pools, and a cow grazing pasture..." And then he rattles off some crazy price that the house is valued at ("A whopping $35.6 million! And that's not all..."). So this is a bit refreshing: actress Frances McDormand and her filmmaker husband Joel Coen have put their upstate New York bungalow on the market...for less than a million.
We're pleasantly surprised how cozy and unpretentious their home is (although, don't get us wrong--we love Scarface posters and Lamborghini beds as much as the next guy). The Knoll Saarinen chairs look great with the rough-hewn wooden dining room table; and we're especially fond of the vintage stove in the kitchen with the matching fridge.
The house is between 2,000-3,000 square feet, with a wraparound porch, and an interior greenhouse (we want one, too!) and an amazing view of the Hudson River. The asking price? $895K.
