In terms of selecting colors for interiors, gray is typically at the top of my list (second to white). I'm a sucker for a dramatic gray room and there's no reason why it can't be brought into the kitchen and more specifically to the cabinets. Many people purchase homes with older kitchens and if replacing the cabinets isn't in the budget, paint usually is. First inclination is to paint cabinets white to make the space look larger but gray can actually have the same effect.
There are many different shades of gray to choose from, whether you're painting or picking our new cabinets for a kitchen remodel. You can go dark and dramatic with a deep gray, which looks beautiful with white walls and black countertops. Go super glam with a lighter shade of gray and install white marble countertops and chic brass hardware! Or, achieve the modern look by pairing dark gray cabinets with a plywood backsplash and black countertops. Add white dining chairs to brighten up the space!
