We live in a multi-unit building, and during open-window months especially, we hear all kinds of things happening in other people's lives. T.V.'s, conversations, phones ringing, parties, arguing, barking dogs, you name it.
While it's probable that our neighbors hear things from us, too, noise at home is an element of city dwelling that gets very tiring. Sometimes we don't know if our neighbors actually are noisy, or if it's simply the result of living in close-proximity. What's worse than the noise, in our opinion, is hearing someone else yell "SHUT UP!" to the person disturbing their peace...
