Name: Nolan (8 weeks)
Location: St. Louis, MO
Nolan's Daddy is a pilot, so the room inspiration started with the hunt for the perfect sky blue color for the walls. We probably tried 20 different shades (who knew there were that many?!) and finally settled on Valspar "Gossamer Sky" - a perfect name for a perfect color.
After that, we added the chair (thrifted for ten dollars) and the fox prints on the wall. I looked for a crib bumper that was breathable and that featured the blue and the peach colors in the wall and the chair, but never did find anything...so I crocheted the bumper. It took forever and when he's done with it, I'll take it apart and use it for a blanket! I used leftover yarn to wrap the letters over his crib. The curtains, quilt and pillow are all home made too. The mobile is pottery barn (we took it apart so one airplane could hang over the chair as well.
Even before he was born, this was my favorite room in the house. It's always bright and happy!
Thanks Kate!

I love the mobile and my boys would love it too! Using yarn to wrap the letters is also a great idea - thanks for the inspiration.
Love the crocheted bumper idea!
The idea of crocheting the bumper was brilliant! And I love the yarn wrapped letters. I wanted to do that for my daughter, but her name is too long lol
Wife of a pilot here: where did you get those adorable "Daddy's co-pilot" onesie and flightsuit footie? MUST. HAVE.
@Bluspacemunky - YES. Don't do it if her name is long...it took FOREVER. I joke with my husband that the next kid is gonna have to have N,O,L, or A in their name otherwise they're not getting the same fancy name treatment on the wall haha.
@Rockstar - the footie was on deep discount at Macy's last year for like 3 bucks, I couldn't believe it! The bib is from an etsy seller: http://www.etsy.com/listing/77306928/the-airline-pilot-bib
Where did you get the letters? All the ones I seem to be finding are the typical times new roman font.
We took the mobile apart as well!
Love the crochet bumper!!! I would love to make one, however I have no clue how to corchet :) I am talking to someone about making on for me. Is there any way you can give me more info on yours (measurements, etc). Thanks so much!
Strawberrylane: it's about 16 8x8 squares stitched together. I also crocheted the ties that attach it to the crib. You need quite a few of them for it to stay up (it's not stiff at all like a regular bumper).
I just picked a granny square out of a book of crochet patterns and did it 16 times :)
