When you think plants for the holidays, you got your staples, like poinsettia, holly, pine, etc... and most any plant that's in the traditional red/green family. At our house, we're not really of the red/green variety. So, we were pleased to see these ideas that are a more modern interpretation of "winter" plants over at My Home Ideas.com... You can get that "winter white" look by using fluffy white azaleas, or hydrangeas that end up resembling little white snowballs. They also suggested using "Cape Blanco" succulents or Dusty Miller plants that naturally have a muted cool frosty grey tone. They planted them in modern white vases and pots to finish off the look. These could look great by your entry or on a table, and even all year round! Read more of their ideas at myhomeideas.com. Has anyone used non-traditional plants for decor during the holidays?
