Name: Myla & TracyLocation: Alameda, CA
Type of Home: 1938 Bungalow (1200 sq. ft.)
What inspired you to use color? I'm a corporate paralegal by trade (not a very creative occupation I may add), so I've turned our home into my outlet for creativity...
Color Tip: Pick colors you absolutely love, not what's "in" right now. Confession: Both our living room and dining room paint colors are now 8 years young. I should probably repaint soon!
Colors Used: Living room: Behr "Champagne" Bedroom: Ralph Lauren "Spun Twilight" Dining room: Behr "Manhattan" Kitchen & Bathroom: Behr "Coastal Clapboard"

great use of color! I especially love the kitchen cabinets.
Great flow of color throughout house. Everything works very well together. Very well thought through.
I really love the color of your bedroom!
nice, peaceful...I love the kitchen
it reminds me of a tv or movie set. this is where the smart, successful, classy woman would live. good job
I love your kitchen and bathroom. It would look so fabulous with a pop of orange or yellow here and there.
I really love the colors, great job.
Wow. Your place looks awesome and extremely professional. Great living, dining, and bedroom. Very inspiring.
GORGEOUS !!!
the bedroom is so sexy... ;-P
chic and sexy and feminine
I love your house! It makes me want to live in a 1938 Bungalow! You've done a beautiful job of modernizing your house while retaining it's classic style. The colors are sophisticated and fresh. Awesome choice to have some rooms be darker while keeping others light. You made perfect choices for each of those rooms. Way to go Myla and Tracy!
Btw, am I seeing Jonathan Adler pottery in the dining and living rooms? Loves!
I love how you can take any piece from any room (pillow from the living room to the bedroom, painting from the bedroom to the living room for example) and it works. Brilliant! You retained the charm of the house but bumped it up to make it current today. Not only is it well thought out but well executed. You didn't do color just to do color but to create a mood. Please do my house!
Very classy!
I love your kitchen. I'm going to try to copy it!! Well done all around.
Love the color flow -the house looks great! I really like the dining room, it's beautiful!
Wow what a difference since we were there last! Love the colors, and furnishing. Don't remember the dining room looking like that when we were there! Wonderful. Thanks for sharing. Sharron and Bill
I want to live in a bungalowâyour bungalow! Love the use of color and furnishings: very modern yet serene with enough contrast from room to room to keep it interesting. Kudos to the both of you!
not only beautiful, but looks very functional too! great job!
Lovely use of subtle colors and new and old style to create a homey cottage. Nice art work to compliment the furnishings. A very pleasant house to be in.
Beautiful house, very clean and classy while keeping the comfortable bungalow feel...Love It!!!
Wow I love the sexy bedroom and the peaceful kitchen. I agree that you've done a wonderful job maintaining classic style while adding modern touch. The bathroom is also so nice. One of my favorites, I would love to live here! I love the view from the dining room as well.
Thank you to everyone for all the kind words. I'm a very private person and it took my best friend Kathleen quite a bit of convincing (more like stalking) to have me enter the contest. And honestly, I'm glad I did. I'm just so fortunate to have a partner that trusts my decorating whims and tolerates me moving furniture at a moments notice and also to have a 5 year old son who cleans up his toys and knows not to use "Mommy's good pillows" as part of his pillow play forts. Thanks again to all. You've all inspired me to keep adding more color in my life :)

I love this "home" it looks like a magazine but I can see myself curling up on the sofa with a good book or watching a great movie. It is a great blend of contemporary yet organic. I love the paintings. The bathroom and kitchen are modern but yet keeping with then original era. Myla definitely could have a new career.
The house looks amazing!! You have a great eye for color and design.
Great!
Flawless, so crisp and regal...it feels so rich but livable.
I would have say that you're canvas is charming and that your choice of a color pallet has definitely shown your inner interior desingner self. Each stroke that you have applied to your home has embodied a wonderful balance of texture, dept, simplicty and beauty that any other person would be more than happy to call their own. Thank you for allowing myself and whomever else to view what one person can do when one Lets Out his/hers Creativity .
Wow! your place looks so much nicer and has such a better flow to it. Plus there's no messy art work and fruit on a plate pictures.(gimme a break!)
Tracy and Myla, it looks beautiful. Best of luck, Heather
Great color scheme, everything blends wonderfully, fantastic job!
Tracy, hey girl your house is untouchable....I love your home. Very neat and sophisticated. Check out the orb in the dinning area.
Oh! So pretty. Everything is done with such clean lines, creativity and serenity. Beautiful job.
Gorgeous - serene - an escape - a much needed soothing space with a .......is there REALLY a 5 year year old living here? A great functioning space for a small child.
Simply beautiful!
Thank you so much for allowing us to "peek"
Beautiful space and color. The lines are clean and space is clear. It would be a joy to live in this house.
Super sweeeeet
wonderful use of colors so chic. I like the kitchen for me only to look at and not to cook.
I like the color schemes that you chose.....clean, warm, modern, subtle, not too flashy overwhelming, or dull and boring. I really like the contrast between the earthtones the accent grays and blues used throughout the decor! Brilliant....when can I move in?
Simple and Beautiful!
Subtle colors -- clean and neat! Great job Myla and Tracy.
