What inspired you to use color? Since I can't use color on the walls of our place (rental), I've decided to brighten up my otherwise drab apartment with (a) a red couch and (b) multi-color multi-patterned pillows. Yellow and Red remind me of driving up Utah canyons with brightly colored fall leaves.
Color Tip: I'm not afraid of using multiple tones of the same color, it adds a lot more dimension and texture.
Colors Used: mustard yellow, crimson red, warm grey

I love the colors! And that painting (poster? I can't quite tell) in the kitchen is wonderful! Who is the artist?
I've done all of the artwork in my apartment, if you want to see the series (the vinyl banner you're referring to), go here:

Hey Melissa, great job on the apartment. It's nice to see that you didn't allow white walls to limit your well designed space. I am in love with the coffee table. Very cool!
great art! & i'm really picky. i wish you submitted 10 though.
The coffee table was another art project. Thanks!!
I like the artwork, but there is no color on the walls. It's too much white, with only accent pieces in color. Even the lamp shade is white, you could have used color to make that jump out from the wall.
wasn't the whole point of her post that she can't use color on her walls? it's a rental. she can't paint.
beautiful
i wanna see more
Melissa,
Do/would you sell copies of any of these prints? (I couldn't find a way to contact you on your blog.)
Great decision to only use the red on the sofa and other colors scattered throughout. It's important to show restraint with red:-)

Beautiful!..I love your art placement!..so prettily done!
I hate it when people say "there's too much white."
1. What's wrong with white?
2. Some people (including myself) live in a rental and can't paint.
Paint is not a cure-all!
As you can see by this apartment, beautiful things can be done with furniture and accents.
