My question is, where do you keep the litter box? I live in a 550sq ft 1 bedroom, with 3 cats. We have to have two boxes that we clean twice a day, and it's hard as hell to keep them out of sight.

the litter box is behind the door in the bathroom.
it is out of sight unless you are in the bathroom.

Congrats on being a finalist. That is one inviting kitchen/dining room. I wish my kitchen/dining room was that nice.

Also, you really have done a good job of dealing with the crazy door situation! What is up with that in SF apartment anyway? Did people in the 1920's need more escape routes? I just don't get it.

I love what you did with your bed. It hides it enough so that it isn't a part of the room, but it is also barely concealed so that you get the benefit of the feeling of extra space and the light. I'm always surprised when people choose a curtain to hide their bed rather than a low bookcase that will mask the bed but not sacrifice the space.

love how you transformed the old SF apartment into such a cozy and welcoming setting. The dining/kitchen area is my favorite too. What's the name of the cat? I am also cited that you are one of the semi-finalists. I hope your landlord will sell you this place as I can't wait to see more lovely transformations...!

does kitty have something that she likes to scratch as well as your furniture? most cats go nuts for sisal, you can buy remnants and make your own scratching post/area, or buy one that's guaranteed to be loved from www.purrfectpost.com.

I know I've recommended them before at least twice on AT, but they really do save your furniture, and cats go crazy for them. Plus, they're not that bad looking. Between the angle scratcher and the post, we can keep our two rambunctous cats from scratching the rugs and furniture, even if some of it cost lest then the posts!

since the lizard isn't edible (nor scratchable) the kitters isn't interested in it.

thanks for the sisal scratcher suggestion. i usually give the cat a cardboard box to shred up but it makes such a huge mess.
