Have you had it with alternative Christmas décor yet? No? Okay, here's more: the Crate & Barrel ornament display made us think about other unconventional ways to display ornaments, because we won't have a tree this year. Where or where to put our ornaments?
• 1 From a garland
• 2 From a branch
• 3 From a multi-branched branch
• 4 An ornament wreath
• 5 Yes, an ornament tree
• 6 As a grouping on a door handle.
• 7 From ribbon.

"we for one", really?
cool way to go green and avoid cutting down more trees or buying plastic junk in the name of a christmas tree
oh,from a branch...especially a cool birch branch - I found one awhile back and put it in my daughter's bedroom and added some vintage shiny brites http://www.flickr.com/photos/23132453@N00/4159421229/
Thank you for correcting my grammar, campari. I'm glad you're out there.
hehe. "we for one" -- that is pretty funny.
watch now karma is going to haunt me, and i'm gonna be drunk at party x and next thing i know i'll be running around using that phrase like a ghetto superstar
I hung a series of ornaments with clear fishing line from the curtain rod over our front window. Also put ornaments on the mulberry branches that sit in floor vase year round. Looks great!
We changed our christmas tree for an old branch from the backyard... put some ornaments and dehidrated oranges wich smell lovely and it looks great! I got the orange idea from an article AT posted like 2 weeks ago. Great alternative!
We for one and one for we!
Just hang ornaments on big houseplant. It always gets a laugh. I have a big jade plant I put lights and ornaments on every year in lieu of a "proper" Christmas tree...people love it.
Sometimes I hang them onto my chandelier (and sometimes I take photos of this ;-) http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=32281806)
Really heavy glass pieces which couldn't go into a tree anyway I put all together in a wide shallow bowl. Very large and special pieces may get an individual wreath to sit on. The one or the other ornament I put onto the book or bathroom shelves or hang them onto the coat rack.
This year we have decided to forego the traditional evergreen to display our ornaments and created this one on our blackboard: http://brittanyanddylan.blogspot.com/2009/12/second-annual-ornament-swap.html
We strung ribbon from some of those adhesive hooks after we drew our chalk-tree.
