We're thankful. We really like Thanksgiving. A holiday that is about choosing good food at the market, preparing it for family and friends, some thinking about what you are thankful for and sitting around a candle-lit table for a long leisurely meal is just so good.
Add in parades (we go down to State Street and freeze every year), chocolate, board games, champagne (for basting and sipping) and maybe an old movie and it simply works out to a good time.
Thanksgiving naturally brings about reflection on community - the network of family and friends, co-workers and neighbors that keep us all afloat. A visit to the Chicago Food Depository site helps to spread the thankfulness around a bit by allowing you to donate food, funds or time this holiday.
Finally, below is a quick survey to find out what we're all up to on Thursday.
Feel free to add in the details in the comments...how many people are you cooking for...what are you bringing along to your friends place... how far are you travelling...what are you doing instead of the "usual"?
AT:Chicago is all about entertaining right now, so send in your tips, questions, menus, invitation ideas and play lists. Take a quick snap of your Thanksgiving table and tag it with apartmenttherapychicago - we'd love to show off your hosting style.
