Name: N (4)
Location: Wilmington, Delaware
N's room is a minty blue haven for reading and playing make believe. We created more floor space by placing a dresser under her bed. Due to the bump out in the wall behind the bed, she (and others) can sneak behind the dresser which is under the bed. Back there you'll find more books, two white plush bears (that are as big as adults) to sit on, and a miniature upholstered rocking chair.
Sleeping is no fun, and falling asleep is the worst... in her eyes. We made bedtime fun by using a tall bed with a ladder that has a removable and super fun tent on top. We set up a vintage desk from our local church, use rolling carts for her books, and continue to use the blackout shades that came with the house. Her focal wall features vintage finds, art by our friends, her baby shower invitation and birth announcement, and photographs of her parents from back when we fell in love as young teens.
You might ask as where her toys are, and we would show you a few baskets in her closet and a couple in our living room. For the most part, she plays learning apps on an old iPad. Her favorite thing to do is to make up stories with small figurines, and she tends to ignore what most people would think are fun toys! We've really used this to our advantage and kept her area simple and clean lined, which helps us keep it clean!
