If you have a traditional copy of Mother Goose at home it may strike you as terribly old fashioned (which you may or may not like). Nursery Rhyme Comics asked fifty cartoonists to reinterpret these classic rhymes in cartoon style (keeping the original words) for a volume that is more modern and, I'd say, more fun. She uses beautiful photo collages of kids hanging out in Brooklyn to illustrate the rhymes. This is our new favorite birthday gift book!
I showed this book to my 5-year-old daughter at Barnes and Noble. I thought she would find it interesting to look at, because she loves the comic format. Before I knew it, we'd read at least 1/3 of it. Everytime I finished one, she begged for the next. Definitely a hit.
