Name: Kenzie
Age: 1 yr
Location: Idaho
Kenzie's mom, Rachelle, is the voice behind Kenzie Poo, a blog related to all things baby and some things Kenzie. With a room palette rooted in neutrals, whites and yellows, Rachelle has set the perfect backdrop for some commanding kids' chairs and for Kenzie to take center stage. Through a lot of DIY and help from friends, this nursery (and the alphabet print) simply spells L-O-V-E...
The Kenzie Poo site is also full of nursery inspiration for the full, creative, conscious modern family. We look forward to seeing the site evolve as Kenzie ages and the nursery becomes the room of an opinionated little girl. For now, enjoy Kenzie's tour!
Inspiration: After searching through magazine after magazine I couldn't decide on what I wanted to do for the nursery until...One day I was registering for my baby shower at Target, and they gave me a booklet of things you could register for. While flipping through that book I found a picture of a room that I absolutely fell in love with! Yellows and whites with lovely wall decals. And that was it!
Favorite Element: I would have to say my favorite items in Kenzie's room are the ABC print with the beautiful frame I found at an antique store, and the beautiful bedding that my good friend made (she is an amazing seamstress).
Biggest Challenge: My biggest challenge was putting the light up....We ended up having to call a friend and have her rewire it!!
What Friends Say: What a blessed baby!
Proudest DIY: I am definitely not an artist, so I was pretty proud of myself when I made the silhouette of Kenzie on her wall.
Biggest Indulgence: Probably my biggest splurge in the room was the crib and the amazing Eames rocker.
Best advice: My best advice is to go homemade.
Dream source: I would love to eventually buy Kenzie a Madeline Weinrib Atelier rug.

that crib is to.die.for. i was admiring it in a PBK store the other day.
(the rest of the room isn't too shabby, either...)
The room is cute (and the baby too!). The ad that surrounds the tour pictures is really annoying.
Very cute and soothing room. What is the wall color? I can't seem to find it in the resources list.
where did you get the adorable headbands Kenzie is wearing?
Runningwithscissors...I don't know the exact name of the paint. It was that color when we moved in to our house...I loved it so much that I didn't change it. Paint is from Columbia paint and coatings.
BadJuJu77...Thanks, I actually make them you can find them here: www.kenziepoo.etsy.com.
beautiful crib!
I love this room. It is so adorable. Love the chairs and of course the cute little baby in it!! One of my favorite rooms for sure. thanks for the great post on this Nursery!!
What a great room. I love the colors in this Nursery. I especially like the Print above the Eames Rocker, and the banners above the window. Her Kenziepoo blog is such a cute blog.
I love EVERYTHING about this room!!!!!!
I love the room! I love the tiny little yellow Louis Ghost chair, how adorable. And that crib is indeed to die for. What's the fabric with the pink butterflies? I know I've seen it before, but I can't remember where.
love it..it's the perfect mix of modern and timeless...
Cute room for a cute baby!
What is the yellow paint color in the shelving areas? Where did you get that cute (tiny) pillow with the yellow bird? (I tried looking up Hettle and Dede on Etsy with no luck). Thanks a bunch. Love the room.
Pencils, thanks so much! The Butterfly Fabric is from www.modgreenpod.com. :)
Sunnysar, Thanks! The yellow paint is from Lowes and it's Valspar...Not sure what the exact color is? The adorable little bird pillow is from dedeetsyshop's Shop on Etsy and the Ruffle pillow is from Hettle on etsy. :)
Ah! I tried looking up the two words together! Love how your sweet room turned out. If you happen to find the color chip, let me know. Its a GREAT yellow!
Thanks, Kenziepoo! I knew I had seen it before--love the wallpaper version too. That would be great in a little girl's room for a feature wall, it's cute but not too overly cute.
I really like the chairs...however, and maybe it's just me but I think the wall decals clash with the origami mobile which clashes with the flag banner which clashes with the chandelier. All that said, I appreciate the neutral tones mixed with yellow. I just think there's waaaay too much "stuff" hanging in the room that ones eye tends to wander...there's no focal point--at all.
amy-in-sf, thanks for your Kind words!
is the eames rocker comfortable enough for nursing?
beautiful room!!
Leapallen...Yes, it is very comfortable for being so modern. It is very low to the ground though...But besides that I love it!
I looove the wall decals! I want some for my room!!
http://pearlsandgreentea.blogspot.com/
Pearlsandgreentea, you should definitely get some! They are from my sister in laws shop on etsy which you can find via here: http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=6491945

How come no one's complimenting you on the bookshelves flanking the window? Love them. Is it just a cutout between the studs? Or was it done during construction? I like it!! Love the rocker. I think copycatchic.com just did a copy of one for TONS less from overstock. I think I need one! Great job!!
i love that wall decor, this is such a lovely place for a baby!
wondering where the lamp came from?
LOVE the room! very cute!
