Strong, yet soft. Cbenn strikes a beautiful balance in this nursery created for baby Audrey (we don't know if she has arrived yet!). She explains:
The leather armchair was from a local department store. Cushion cover and rug from Ikea...
The picture on the wall is a vintage Babar print from 1933 - just needed to be framed. Bedlinen is from Pottery Barn Kids in the United States, except the crib skirt, which I made myself.

Picked up the change table second-hand for a bargain on Ebay (oh, how I love Ebay-ing). This was painted the same red as the chest of drawers. The shelving unit is from Ikea (did I mention I also love Ikea-ing?).

Vintage "Babar" print from 1933. Picked up at an antiques home show last year as a pair with another similar print.

The chest of drawers belonged to my sister. It was just ordinary pine with a light varnish over the top of it, but we stripped it back and painted it that gorgeous red. Also put new knobs on the drawers to match the room decor. Love the letters on the wall - these were purchased from a craft shop and then painted.

A close-up of the mobile that hangs above the crib. Butterflies seemed a nice girly option, without going too over the top.
Thanks for sharing, Cbenn!

Shaw's Original Fir...
Absolutely beautiful.
I am so happy to see people moving away from pastels in nurseries.
I love it! We always did our nurseries in primary colors, so I agree with the PP. :)
Lucky Audrey!
I love it! And looks like the decor will not be outgrown in a year. A good room for a baby or little girl.
Audrey was born on Saturday 18 August, so she's now 10 days old or so. Thank you for the lovely comments about her nursery!
Beautiful!
Where did you buy that sweet mobile?
Kelly... There is a store in Melbourne called "Geppetto's Workshop". They've got lots of wonderful traditonal wooden toys, mobiles, and puppets. The mobile was something I saw and just had to have - it was a bit of an impulse buy!
For interests sake, here is the link for Gepetto's - http://www.geppettosworkshop.com.au/shopping/index.php
Too bad, I'd love to travel to Austrailia to visit "Gepetto's Workshop" but maybe once Baby Girl is a little older :)...thanks!
I love your nursery
Hi again Kelly... I agree - Australia is a bit far to go for a mobile! But there's always Ebay... The link below shows a mobile quite similar to Audrey's (except with bees, not butterflies!), plus there are a heap of other different options available if you do a search.

Hi cbenn, I'm also in Melbourne. Audrey's room is simply divine and you are very clever. The Babar prints are stunning, would you mind me using the photos on our blog weheartbooks.com? I will link to this page on Ohdeedoh.
