We are newlyweds and are furnishing our one-bedroom apartment from scratch.
This is our first "real" apartment so we haven't quite cultivated our sense of style and compromising often leads to something neither of us fully love.
Nonetheless, we've bought a few pieces and we need help creating a complete "look..."

I prefer a more classic and feminine look while my husband likes more of a minimalist look.
In the spirit of compromise, we ended up with a few mid-century modern pieces that we both liked and hope will transition well into a bigger home in the near future.
We need advice on the following:
1) So far we've bought a coffee table, sofa (in the sectional configuration and color exactly as shown), credenza, mirror and media stand.
In typical NYC rental apartment fashion, the dining area is just an extension of the living room, so we need advice on the remaining pieces we need to buy.
We definitely want our apartment to look brighter and airier than the one shown in the picture.
We will need bookshelves, lamps, a dining table, dining chairs, and a side table and while mixing woods and textures has been manageable thus far, we don't know what else to add so that it won't look random.
