Dear AT,
I have a 1/2 bath that I'm remodeling.
I bought slate tiles (Vermont style) for the floor.
My question is should I stay with the slate tiles for the vanity set in the picture (everything included besides the trees) or choose another floor option?
The wood trims are more of a espresso color (darker than shown)
Also, I need help picking out a right wall color to suit well with the orange sink. Thanks! Glenda

I like it just the way it is. I like how the orange of the sink pulls from the tones in the shower floor.

it looks beautiful just as is but i would probably not want to use it, just look at it.

something about the wood color does not do it for me on this one. You mention too that what you are looking at is in fact darker (expresso) I think lessens the look. (maybe its just the vanity unit, I don't like) I would keep it consistent with the wood slats in the back ground. Light woods. Fyi. the black slate tiles look awesome as a client just layed them in a loft here in Chelsea. Problem is if you go with a lighter vanity, which I recommend the orangeish sink set may not longer work with the color variation. Go yellow maybe. I saw this is a $4mm townhouse yesterday. Yellow pieces and it was stunning. For the walls, go with a very very light grey shade.
I don't think there is any major aesthetic problem with using the slate tiles everywhere, aside from ones feelings about slate tiles in general.
However, IMHO that fabo basin deserves to shine more than it will against a white wall. Were it me (and I have a similar decision coming up) I'd extend the use of timber from the shower floor to the rest of the bathroom, and change the wall color to a dark gray.
Dare I say 'slate'.
In other words I think your floor color should be on your walls, as it is in the shower area in the photo.

That is not a photo of the actual bathroom!...just an example of the vanity though her's is a darker stain. (her's is a 1/2 bath meaning no shower!)
She has different slate tiles and a darker stain on her vanity.
I'd think a light grey chosen from the tiles would make a nice paint color.
Enamorada, you got it! I purchased the vanity set to be installed in a 1/2 bath (no shower). I'm trying to figure out if slate tiles (gray-greenish) will look good with this set. I'm also adding (4) 3" recessed lights in chrome to match the faucet.
Just didn't know if i should get ceramic tiles or slate. Thoughts?
Believe it or not, i bought this beautiful vanity set (mirror, shelves, hardware, sink, faucet) on Ebay for ~$400 including shipping. They only had the orange/mustard color though.

I would really give deck tiles a look...they look awesome and they are completely eco friendly.
