Today is the first in a series of updates/sneak peaks of those featured in our newest book: Apartment Therapy Presents: Real Homes, Real People, Hundreds of Design Solutions.
The book showcases 40 homes of AT readers including interviews, photos and resources. There's also some great commentary by Maxwell!
Maxwell and Sara Kate are the first on our list. They've moved from their unbelievably efficient, beautiful and tiny apartment since the book was photographed, but they have used the wisdom of small living to make the best use of their new space.
The kitchen is about twice the size of that in their old apartment. To keep things organized, they've introduced a heavy-duty potrack below the kitchen's skylight.
According to Maxwell, "I installed this one evening using ceiling hooks that take four screws in each plate (it's real sturdy). It's been great for storage and also to separate the kitchen from the dining area a bit more. It feels cozier now."
Max and Sara Kate bought their steel and wood potrack from Overstock.com for about $70.
