Ptoo, you funny.

It might get me banned from the site, but I have always wanted a conversation pit.

Since, as the editor of Dwell, you are a high-powered trend-setter, could you maybe bring them back in a few years so I could build one without shame? Thanks!

But I am being good today!!!... I made NO comment about his *releasing a 12"*...

Could we put macrame owls on that list, too? I'm thinking that using those sort of glossy, silk cords -- the kind you see in bright red Chinese hangings or tassels or whatever they are -- would be kind of cool.

Girard! I love Girard! I believe he did have a conversation pit in his home, and of course super graphics. Glossy red silk cords sound great!

he just described a perfect apartment, the right combination of things, pow! (of course!)
i'm still waiting for some seriously crafty but elegant Cy Winship style entries.

maybe sam can tell us why there are no amazingly cool entrants from sf...

why are 90% of the posts on this website so negative?

hi sam! i live in about 1100 square feet in atlanta, ga. ... too big for your contest, but still in need of being a cool space. i'm currently in decoration mode and find myself, oddly enough, being drawn to bulls as a design element. know of any fabulous places for me to check out? atlanta or elsewhere? thanks!

sally, i disagree that 90% of the posts on this site are negative;
i was excited to read Sam's list of hopes, which may be a joke, but to me are a distillation of 70's + 60's retreads which may reek of kitsch to some, but to me are full of energy, and both benevolence + drop dead chic, so i hope you didn't infer anything negative from my comment:
the context of my remark is that i truly like most of the entrants, some wildly so, especially the warmly minimal ones... i just would also like to see some places, as i said last year, that are a bit tarted up, on a low budget, in the brilliant, but fab way of a certain Minneapolis upholsteror who happens to be a guest decorator on the sometimes maligned (here in AT) HGTV channel, that's all!

It is nice to see that the judges are shaping up to be very cool people, with very cool jobs! Ignore the poo-pooing people Sam! Get out there and have fun! There are great entries from all over the country! I do not envy your position!! ;)
I wouldn't know where to begin!
