I am a fan of Landon Cole Furniture. There is always something worth seeing and everything can be customized, which is good for those Angelinos who have their homes super-sized and need tables that seat forty and sofas that wrap around arena sized dens.

The beauty of the La Brea store is that the furniture is stylish, well made, relatively well priced just as is, but the customizing also comes into play with the multiple wood choices and overflowing closet full of fabrics available for every piece.

nice chair--definitely not your typical armchair & yet versatile & classic-looking enough to work in a lot of settings, i think. too bad i'm not in LA anymore. well, i'd never be able to afford this stuff anyway.
say, when are we going to get "200 words from san francisco"? pleeeeze??? ok, i'd be happy with even "75 words from SF"....
I was in the shop a few weeks back and had them price out 2 coffee tables for my non-supersized, sub-arena-scaled apartement. And, yes, their prices are competitive for custom work (but still on the pricier side). The designs are clean and the quality looked to be good. (Although, I didn't check to see if the showroom pieces were finished or not on the underside--kind of a pet peeve of mine when it comes to custom work.) Another thing of note. The shop currently has great artwork by an artist who prints photographic images on non-traditional materials like plywood. The effect is really interesting and worth checking out if you live in L.A.
wow, enrique, it sounds like you're really working hard on your apartment, & from what we've seen so far (kitchen, moroccan patio, bathroom), the place must be gorgeous! are we ever going to get to see the rest of it here on AT? (btw, did your horsetail reeds make it?)
ok, sorry to get off topic, i'll stop now!
Off-topic, sorry!
Sooj-Here's the patio update. The horsetail didn't make it, neither did the ornamental clumping grass or the climbing vine. (Once the heat kicked in, buh-bye!) They've been replaced by heartier plants (a few more succulents, potted moss-which has amazing recovery abilities if I forget to water) and potted ivy. Accessory clutter has been minimized and the space now has 3 Khoutoubia-styled Moroccan lanterns (all different sizes). How are your balcony plantings coming along? Thanks again for the kind words!
