9 Month Cure: In Goes The Kitchen

9-21-henry1.jpgTime Remaining: -2 days

Time to eat hot chili peppers. With still not a word from the pre-natal universe, we got to help out today as our new HenryBuilt kitchen began its installation.

Anthony Riccio's men on this part of the job are Russian and meticulous. They unpacked everything (over 100 pieces!) to figure out the various pieces of the puzzle and by day's end had a game plan for dealing with the awfully out of plumb walls. They say this will take 2 1/2 days, and we really hope so.

I know the last thing she wants to do is go for a walk, but a long walk does stimulate contractions. However, maybe y'all want to wait the 2.5 days it will take to finish the kitchen. Spicy foods does help. My first baby came the night of eating at TGI Fridays(a spicy beef dish) that I definitely think helped my water break.

And a foot massage! I've heard that foot massage stimulates pressure points to induce labor in a gentle manner, though this may just be a ploy for foot massages....

until I had that kitchen done, I'd be flat on my back (well, on my right side, right?) and eating mild food

Maxwell, just wanted to echo purejuice above. I don't know you or SK, but by following these posts, I have definitely gotten very excited for both of you and am just so impressed with your philosophy, which you are clearly living. Best of luck and good wishes to both of you....I hope that you have set up something with Jill or one of the other trusty AT'ers so that your Blog Family hears the good news as soon as Baby G-R decides to make an appearance. You have us hanging on the edge of our seats. All the best.

Your kitchen! I feel like it's my kitchen at this point, I've been waiting with such anticipation for it! The walls glow so nicely in these shots.

I repeat my prior sentiment--such drama! the apartment, the kitchen, the baby!

The octopus is as cute as the monkey! Much coveting is going on over here...

Enjoy. Breathe. Bless. Cuddle. The baby will come when s/he is ready.

Not that I'm recommending this or that I think anything at all is necessary, but the only thing that got my labor going (both times) was castor oil. And I tried the long walks and spicy food.

um, i don't want to get into x-rated territory here, but sex can help with moving things along. feel free to remove this if you don't want to go there. good luck!

I like the smallness of your kitchen fridge (compared to the behemoths in some homes nowadays). It's a charming reminder that you're creating a warm and lovely new home in only 250 sq. meters. : )

I'm crossing my fingers that the kitchen gets finished before Baby G-R arrives. Good luck!

250 sq. FEET, that is.

Good for baby to wait on the arrival of the kitchen. Omens are excellent for producing a child who will work well with contractors.

I'm so excited too! You've got readers all over the world excited about your apartment and your baby.
It feels strange to feel attachment like this for someone I don't know, but you seem to care about all of our little lives and homes and we can't help but feel the same for you.
good luck with the delivery of both the kitchen and the baby. I vote foot massage too, although I have no idea about birthing.

I'm very excited to see the kitchen arrangement. I have a tiny kitchen and I'm anxious to see your new set-up as it may give me great ideas. The small fridge is one wonderful example of this. Thanks for the slideshow! I hope you can share lots of pics of the finished product.
