The toaster version can toast two slices and will handle a bagel. The coffeemaker version will make up to six cups. Both models are in a stainless steel finish and retail for about $150.
have you seen those coffee maker/egg makers? They freak me out. This one is nicer looking, but it still feels white trashy to me. Would be great in a dorm or a cabin/outpost.

very clever. though I'm always wonder with multigadgets if your worse off when one half will breaks, either leaving you with a massive toaster or an oversized mmicrowave...though i guess at $150, just get another one....

We used to have the LG Toaster/Microwave combo and we liked it quite a bit, although it has a few annoying features. A)after you use the toaster, the fan blows for a full minute after. I hated that. B) you can't use the toaster and the microwave at the same - which is a bummer when you're trying to microwave bacon and make toast for breakfast so they are both done at the same time the eggs are done on the stove ;)
We sold it on craigslist when we renovated our kitchen and made room for an over-the-range microwave and a shiny new toaster.

why is this white trashy?

p(too) asked what I wondered too: why's it white trashy? or maybe the broader question: what are the principles of white trashiness? (and, isn't hollywood regency just a step to the right of it? not knocking it; i'm aiming for the hollywood-glam-mid-mod look in my place.)
there is one thing most definitey in the w.t. camp i crave, if i could only find it: glitter formica for my countertops.

I too question the 'white trash' comment - and even though I know it's not the time or place (design blog, not social issues blog) - I implore people to use caution with a phrase like white trash - it is a classist and racist comment: implying that 'white' people should not behave like 'trash' (which other races do, by suggestion that there is not a comparable phrase for latino, black, asian, etc. groups).
It's a huge peeve of mine. Carry on with the design talk>...
I had a space saver getup like this in my dorm - coffee pot and toaster oven with a griddle on top. It was nice. I had the benefit of a single dorm (the monitor's suite) so I also had a refrigerator and apartment size stove, but even without that I could have survived quite handily.

I have the LG microwave/toaster oven thing. It works pretty well - I don't mind the blowing fan, but what bugs the hell out of me is the endless, strident peeping of the timer when it finishes. I wish you could turn it off.
With a bullet.

I like LG for its 22" over-the-range microwave/hood (as far as I know, the only sub-30" one out there). I think it's sized to work over both 24" and 20" stoves . . . but they seem to be discontinuing it.

"...implying that 'white' people should not behave like 'trash' (which other races do, by suggestion that there is not a comparable phrase for latino, black, asian, etc. groups)."
Please. Any racist term for an ethnic group implies that said person is behaving like 'trash.' It just so happens that there is no other deragotory term for caucasions.
