11-29-07_AD_OA_Kitchens_1.jpg

A new batch of images has just been posted over at Architectural Digest for your perusal and review. It's all part of their NY Open Auditions, and these are the kitchens that rose to the top of the local opener of this nationwide talent search designed to get unknowns and undiscovereds onto the glossy pages of the venerable interiors title. Vote for your favorite here, and see the pics in all their glory after the jump.

Kitchen voting ends midnight on Monday, and on Tuesday another batch goes up for critique. C'mon, AT readers, throw some of your signature sass over there and weigh in!

Personally, while over the top, we are loving the mix of steel and stone in the grand kitchen of Steven Morey, Dallas, Texas. And loving that configuration of appliances.

Hmmm, Dallas as part of the NY Open Auditions? Wonder why he didn't wait til the Houston Open Audition in early 2008, at the Decorative Center.

I appreciate the airiness and lightness of the Salisbury, CT kitchen.

I can see how the Dallas kitchen would be so popular as it is quite over the top.

Love the CT kitchen. I always want to see what is inside the drawers. From what I have seen in the showrooms for brands like Boffi, Poggenpohl, and Bulthaup, etc; opening the drawers and seeing the details is really where the beauty is. or maybe I just like to snoop.

I think it's great that AD is beginning to widen their scope and use their influence to show off lesser known designers. It seems like a huge opportunity - even just to get feedback - for those that may be new or relatively unexposed in the field.

That Dallas kitchen is so different from what I am normally attracted to in a kitchen, and yet I so love it. Love, love, love!

Make sure you follow the links to AD and vote for your faves... voting for the kitchens closes today at midnight.

matt--
Yeah, I think the whole Open Audition story is pretty cool. That, and the fact they have been very eager (and appreciative) to work with AT on promoting the whole thing.
