...in the eye of the beholder. We saw this image on a card at a store a number of weeks ago and kept it. We love it. The artist is Almond Zigmund, and we know next to nothing about him her except that the card says this piece is from a show currently at the Avram Gallery at Southhampton College, LI.

Don't know her, or much about her - but she's a friend of a friend (and definitely not a man)
Almond Sun is my daughter; she was born in 1971 in Northern California (need I say more). She's a great artist who lives in East Hampton with her boyfriend Jason Weiner, who co-owns and is executive chef at Almond Restaurant in Bridgehampton. She does also teach at Southhampton College.

So glad to have found this website! Yes, Almond is indeed a wonderful artist and a very smart, articulate teacher here at Southampton College. She has set up a very interesting class. I only wish it were longer!! I think her specialty as a teacher is her innate abilty to critique students' work in a meaningful, helpful, insightful manner.
Almond is a terrific artist, although I guess I'm a little biased. Her boyfriend is a talented and creative chef. And oh yeah, Jason Weiner owes me over a thousand dollars. Seriously.
