Discovered in 2004, Grainbag hasn't changed too much, but it still represents an affordable online art option, and it has a wildly varied collection.
Grainbag is a wideranging online gallery based in Pittsburg (*I think*), which represents (get this) writers, painters, photographers, musicians and sculptors. Prices range from $60 for the photograph of the spaceman by Corey LeChat (matted and framed), to $10 for a paperback volume of original writing by David Cherry, to $65,000 for a huge sculpture called Walking Man Stick Rocket.

I love grainbag. I bought a Bart Scantlin piece for a friend and she loved it. grainbag was easy to work with and very acommodating of my delivery request. I also picked up the Grand Buffet CD after I saw them in Jacksonville. Their sound is not to be missed.
Grainbag is one of the best curated collections I have ever seen. I have bought two pieces from them plus I got the Human Brains CD which is hard to come by these days. Artists: get your work out there and sell it and do it on Grainbag.
