Carrie tipped us off to Heidi Cody, so we went to check her out. Riffing on iconography from various commerical sources, Heidi has some beautiful and unexpected work. We particularly like her sense of color. It is one thing to rip off icons; it is another to translate them into richly colored art pieces. We say check her out.

Probably my favorite piece of wall art is a large photo by Brooklyn artist Heidi Cody ("Blue Jays" above). I had this up on my bedroom walls for months before my boyfriend ever noticed that the "birds" were in fact bottles....
