Paintings of Home Interiors by Nick Patten

We found Nick Patten's portfolio when we were writing the recent post, Checklist for Moving Out. A revisit to his site revealed oil paintings of still, timeless interiors from his home in New York's Hudson Valley and his years in Cape Cod...

We love the quiet nature of these spaces. Many of them look temporarily uninhabited, as our homes must appear when we're away at work all day. Others look like they're just cleaned up from a leisurely breakfast. Check out Patten's full body of work at nickpatten.com.

These are just lovely. Would love to be able to commission a painting of one of the rooms of my home. The paintings are realistic, yet with a painterly patina that just glows from within. Exquisite!

These are beautiful; I really love what the contemporary realist painters are doing these days.

i'm always in awe of people who can create light so realistically on the canvas.
