Long a favorite of some of New York's top prop stylists and editors, we were a little surprised to discover we had never given the West Village's The End of History a proper shop tour. EoH specializes in mid-century art glass, arranged in unique, at times arresting combinations.
From the shop's blog: "There is nothing quite like the fabulous lines and sensual shapes of the vintage hand blown glass and rare ceramics and furniture found at 'The End of History'. I opened my shop in Manhattan's West Village in 1997. Since then we like to think we've cornered the market on the mid-century aesthetic with more glass from the 50's & 60's in one room than anywhere in the world."

beautiful store!

I think you should mention that this store is practically never open! I used to live a couple of blocks from there, and I must have walked past it a gazillion times, yet I never had the chance to actualy stop in.

See that's funny stuff. Hejiranyc is giving me the inside scoop on the store. Why didn't the blogger do that?
Pretty pictures though.

the hours are certainly cryptic -- but I have found the store open as often as not -- it's very village traditional in terms of its operating hours.
Which isn't to say I don't understand hejira's frustration.
perhaps a more deliberate hejira from time to time?
